....In With the NEW!!!!

Finally!!! After almost 2 months its here...MY NEW CAR!!!

Its a 1.3 Produa, MYVI SE. Its the latest model. Whoo hoo. Im sooooo happy! At last i can drive around without having to have all the hassle from the last car!!!

I have a few fotos to whack up on face book but im having a bit of trouble loading em up, but don't worry...i'll get on it!

Lemme tell you a bit about it. The cars called "Buttercup", we named it after the toughest, roughest, most attitude-est powerpuff girl. It has fully leather seats front and back. A stereo that can play FM and AM radio, CD's, and USB memory cards ( a feature that i have fallen in love with). Its got great A/C, the engine is silent, smooth gear changes, height adjustable seating, and most important....CUP HOLDERS!!!

On the outside, i got a sexxxy spoiler, 14" black alloys, body kit, and a nice exhaust. This car looks great, feels great, and makes ME look great!!!

Seriously, i love this car, i really do!!! I cant wait to take you all for a drive in it, i guess you can't fully appreciate what im talking about unitl you have been in it. So, i guess im driving next time we head into KL!!!!

Out with the Old........

As alot of you know, i drive proton wira. But what alot of you dont know is the HEADACHES it's been causing me. So, here for your educational benefit is all the problems that my car has:

1) The engine will cut out if i have the stereo on, with the aircon.
2) The car engine will over heat if the aircon is on for too long (20mins)
3) You can only open/ close one window at a time, try to do 2 together and they both die.
4) To open the front passenger window, you have to lean across and do it from the passenger door, cuz the switch on the driver side only works if you hit it about 5 times REALLY hard!
5) The drivers seatbelt, doesn't release straight away, you have to jiggle it for about 10 seconds.
6) The back right parcel shelf speaker only works when it wants to.
7) The stereo can only get capital am radio.

Did you get al that??? No?...ok, let me give you a typical scenario i have to face everyday:

So i wanna go somewhere in the car. I start driving and now have to decide if i want aircon or stereo on. I'll choose the stereo. I stick on my mp3 player (but can only listen to half of the track cuz the back speakere wont work). It's too hot now, so i'll put the windows down (one at a time), oh wait the passenger window isn't going down cuz the switch is buggered, lemme just lean over and hit the switch on the passenger door. Thats a bit better. Brrrmmmmmmmmmm (thats me driving).
Im bored of listening to this music now, i wonder whats on the radio??? Oh wait...thats right CAPTIAL FUCKING AM!!! LLLAAAAAMMMMMEEEEE!!!!!!! Fuck it, i'll treat myself to some air conditioning instead. Ooops, i turned the A/C on beofre turning the stereo off and now the car has died. I'll just restart it up!! Ok, now the stereo is off i better put the windows up.....one at a time.....i'll do the passenger side first (by leaning over the seat). Ahhh, thats much cooler now, so nice and chilly...but wait...whats this....the engine has overheated due to the aircon!!! Good thing i keep 5 ltrs of water spare in the boot for such a regular occasion!!! Oh dear, i seem to be stuck in the seatbelt...lemme just fuck about needlessly with this for 10 seconds (which feels like a life time when you wanna get out).

I think you get it now!!! oh well, not too long now till we get the new car, and i can be free of this garish green nightmare!!! And when i do get the MYVI im gonna ride around the city laughing hysterically with the aircon AND the stereo on, whilst winding ALL the windows up and down TOGETHER at the SAME TIME, from the DRIVERS control panel, all the while listening to HITZ.FM on ALL the speakers.

That Friday feeling

Yes!!! After one and a half years of mooching, i have decided to separate myself from the unemployed student masses, and finally got a JOB!!!!

Im am to be the latest edition to the ever growing family down at TGI Fridays (the one at the curve!) Having been a barman/ bar supervisor/ bar manager, it seemed only right that i return to my routes and get back into the industry that i once loved so much!

I had my orientation day today!!! It was as expected, just your usual run of the mill, "welcome to the (insert your company name here) family" bull shit. When did being a barman become such a bureaucratic process. When i first started in the industry, all you had to be was 18 and be able to work weekends. Now, they give you customer service tests; which by the way, is just a test to see how long you can fake a smile to a asshole customer!!!

Once, i got through all that crappy family nonsense, i got straight into the bar...and.....wow....its hard to describe how i felt. Its been so long since i was on that side of the bar. I guess you could describe it as a kinda 'natural' feeling. Like when a wild tiger is let back into the jungle. Thats how i felt.

The day was only a couple of hours long, and i start work for real tomorrow, but so far i've met some great people, who i look forward to learning alot from. And my boss isn't an asshole (which is a total added bonus!!!).

So, if you fancy coming down to see me spin, flip, and shake my way through some kick ass-tastic cocktails; I'll be there most of the week.
Don't forget get to leave a tip though!!!!

I can't draw hands!!!

Growing up, i was never really the creative type. Sure, i could build something outta nothing, hell, i'd make MacGyver jealous, but when it came to arts and crafts stuff; it has to be said that i was not the brighets colour on the pallete.

However, only recently i have found my artistic side. I don't know where it has come from or what summond it up, but i have been creating "art works" that are way beyond my actual capability; and so what started out as something to kill time at home has actually turned into quite the hobby.

I started experimenting with the windows paint application that come standard with every windows computer. Just making cartoon images of my friends and things, and then after a while i began experimenting with shapes. I have been trying to find diffrent mediums of creating art so i can find the one i prefer best.

Recently, i have been trying my hand at sketching myself in diffrent situations. I'm really proud of some of the stuff i churned out too. However, i have already learnt that i can't draw hands!!!

As well as sketching, i've also been practing using adobe photoshop. I attend a 2 hour class at college the other day (it was just a free intro to photoshop really) and i found that i really enjoyed playing with images as much as i did creating my own!

Now, i try to make as much time as possible to draw, paint, photoshop, write (writing counts as creativity right?!), or do whatever. As long as i'm being productive and trying something new, i will continue to grow as an individual.

I really encourage other people reading this to do the same. Just go and try something new, you never know....maybe you can draw hands!!! If you want to view my works, you can check them out on facebook. They are in the album, Artworks (formerly known as "what i can do with paint")

Pressing the 'play' button on Life

Music. It has the power to make us laugh, cry, and a lot more. It helps us get through messy break ups, it brings back pleasent memories, it makes traffic jams enjoyable!!!

A lot of people say "Music is their life" but when i compare them to me, i question their values. Sounds arrogant huh? But you see, I have been plugged into my headphones since i was a baby! I can't recall a time when ive done something without listenng to music, for you see, music isn't just music to me. It's a sound track to my life!

When i drive i'm listening to Megadeth, when im skating it's Solid Steel, getting ready for a night out.....Pendulum. I even went to my Prom night with a cassette player in my pocket and the Earphones tucked in my top pocket!!! Its like having a cup of coffee in the morning, if you dont have it, you don't feel ready for the day. If i dont get a fix of music in the morning then im not ready to deal with anything.

Music is soooooo important to me. I realised exactly how true this was when i had all my cd's stolen along with my cd player. I was devastated, lost, and had an overwhelming feeling of emptiness inside me. It's the same kinda feeling you get when your girl friend leaves you for another guy....BUT WORSE!!!

Anyways, i could sit here all day and preach about the importance of music to me, but i don't want to over kill this subject.

So, my advice for a happier life is: Don't be afraid to play your music loud, Listen to all types of music, don't put yourself into a genre that won't let you keep an open mind (e.g. Dont be a goth and only listen Meatl, cuz break beat hip hop is the amazing!!!), and most importantly, always keep a beat in your heart, ears, and keep your finger on play button!!!!

Cartoonies!!!!

During the past week, whilst i have been revising for my exams (Gulp!) I have been experimenting with the 'Paint' program on my laptop. Its a program that every single windows computer has and most people hardly ever use it.

I don't know why i suddenly took a fondness to this program, i mean, it's not like i ned to use it for my work or anything?! I just one day started drawing and found myself curiously addicted to what i could do with it!

I did my first cartoon charecter of Adi about a week and a half ago and i have done a few more since then. If you wanna have a look at them all then go check out my FaceBook page and its in one of my photo albums entitled "what i can do with paint". I like drawing them cuz although they are just really simple shapes and lines, it's the attention to personal detail that makes them special. I get all this detail by looking at photographs of the people im drawing and save a couple of images of their clothes and hair styles. This creates a certain uniquiness about each one.

Right, Im going off to do my revision now, Priciples of Management..........yey........., but later i'm going to re-do the cartoon image of Adi cuz she says its not fair that she has a bigger head than Debbs.

If you would like a cartoon image of yourself, then just message me on facebook, and i'll knock one up for you when i have some spare time. In the meantime, enjoy looking at my latest creation of my sister.

Have you seen "MY TIE?"

No i'm not talking about NECK TIES YOU FOOL!!!! Im talking about Blood, Pain, and total CARNAGE!!!!! Cuz that is what was on the menu for the International Muay Thai superfight at Shah Alam stadium last saturday.

I first saw the poster for the event outside my lecture hall at KDU; and as soon as i saw it i knew i was going.

I got student discount and got the tickets for the bargain price of 35rm down from 50rm! So it was set; in the words of Elton John "SATURDAY NIGHT'S ALRIGHT FOR FIGHTING"!

We rocked up to the place quite early and took at seat inside, and although i had paid for 35rm seats, we went and sat in the 1st class seats, which were 75rm a seat! We waited and waited for what seemed an eternity....then......suddenly....the lights went dead, and the fighters came out!!!! Iran, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, switzerland, Thailand, Brazil, and Scotland, it was a righ ol' mix up of diffrent countries competing!!!! The first fight was quite lame, but the action soon picked up after that!!!! 26 bouts of BLOODSPORT, and one (Gay) fashion show later it was all over!!! The last fight was especially good becuase The scottish guy beat the Thai guy (at his own countries sport i might add) and took his title! I was quite glad it was over cuz my voice was gone from all the shouting i had been doing. "Punch his Ribs" "Kick him in the head" "FUCKING KILL HIM!!!" Yep, my throat was dead!

All in all it was a GREAT night, but the event organisation (not to mention the commentators, if you could call them that) needed alot of work! If the fights come back to KL then for sure me and Adi are going, but next time we will smuggle a few beers in! hehehehe!!!!

The FANTASTIC 4.....day weekend

Drink responsiby. Thats the message every drink manufacturer wants us to understand. They put in it their T.V ads, poster campaigns, and print it on the back of their bottles. However, putting it on the bottles was a total waste of time cuz i was waaayyyyy to drunk to read it over the week end. Heres is the 411 on my fantastic 4 day weekend!

Friday

We picked up my our mate Patrick at 11.45pm at LCCT airport, and rather than taking him home to do the usual settling in, we headed straight into the city for some MAD dancing action. We arrived at Heritage road and like a group of degenerates we stated drinking budget "Russian" vodka in the car park. In 10 mins the 3 of us (me, pat, and adi) had dome 3 quarters of the bottle.

We then made our way to Space to hook up with Candy (pats best mate) and Adrian (candy's office colleague). There we proceeded to party like its 1985; with me and Pat totally OWNING the dance floor and Podium!!! The night was ended with a mandatory trip to the mumak to chow down on soup Kambing

Saturday

Pat, Candy, and Adi went for linch at the curve in the early afternoon, i was unable to join them cuz i was battling a hangover that could kill an elephant!

A few hours later, around 3pm, i was ready to rock! UrbanScape was the destination! An outdoor/ indoor local music event featuring Rock bands and killer Dj's. Our good friend megat, had a boutique stall there selling his garms to the malaysian masses, so we invaded and made it our HQ!

Within an hour i was the only relativley sober one there. I was driving so i just had a couple of cans, But the rest of them started and FINISHED a complete bottle of Jack Daniels!!! We danced around, partied, and after the chaos had ended at UrbanScape; we headed back into the City to Zouk, where khai was playing at the loft.

More drinking ensued and we drank 2 jugs of guiness mixed with white wine cooler (suprisingly tasty)! The night ended with a 10 minute wait in KFC for a 15pc family bucket of chicken. Out of the 15 pc's i inhaled 7!!! Urgh........never again!

Sunday

By this point, we had all started to feel the drain of leading a rock and roll life style and decided to have an easy day shopping at Pavillion. Its this really swanky, high end shopping mall. I'm always seeing important people shopping there surrounded by security and body gaurds! Me? I prefer not to use my body gaurds; i like to keep a low profile!
Anyway, so 2 hours later and a few hundred bucks less in our pockets it was dinner time. We drove from KL to Hartamas square where we ate enough to last us the rest of the year!!! Satay, Kuay teow, La la, Tom Yam soup, Tau foo, and Chocolate brownies with ice cream. I was feeling like a right fatty!
After we had closed Hartamas square down, we went over to breakers to play some pool. I was on top form, i didnt lose one game, I even BEAT my wife (not an easy task!). So on a triumphant note we went to bed and had an early night as we were knackered!!!!

Monday

Monday was to be an Indian day. We met Adi for banana leaf, and then sent Candy to KL Sentral to catch the train to KLIA. When she had left for hong kong me and Pat drove down to Batu caves to feed the monkeys, Hike up the stairs, and check out the indian paintings. Very Cultural!

When we had had enough of monkey mingling, we picked Adi up from work, and went to eat CRABS!!!! Yum!!! I love it, thers just something really satisfying about the destruction that comes along with eating crabs. When we had finshed chowing down we where gonna just sit for a while and relax, but a flying cockroach put that plan to rest!

When Adi had finished running and me and pat had finally caught up to her; we drove to KLCC and went up to the sky bar. This was my first time to the Sky bar, but it wont be my last. Situated on the 33rd floor of traders hotel, the sky bar boasts a pleasent atmosphere accompanied by breath taking views of the Twin towers and KL city! We sipped expensive wine and chatted about the weekend right unitl the stroke of mid night. Then we got into our pumpkin carriage and our white mice pulled us home!

The next day, pat went back to Hong Kong, thus ending The FANTASTIC 4 day weekend!!!!

Taking the Long Way home!

Many of my close friends will tell you that i am an avid skater and always have been since the age of 12. I started with snakeboards and progressed to streetboards and competed many times in various skate jams, meeteings, and events.

However, whilst i was always into my pipes and rails, i never really boasted of my longboarding passion. I fell in love with my first long board when i was 16. I was at the skate shop buying Kyrptonics for my streetboard when i saw it lying up against the wall. 46" Gordon and Smith FibreFlex. Beautiful! I had to have it, so i saved up my money and bought it! Currently, i own three longboards. The FibreFlex, and two Sector 9 boards! But due to the weight of the Sector 9's i could only bring the fibreflex to KL.

Its hard to describe the feeling and pleasure that longboarding gives me. Leaning into a corner and just feeling the board turn is an experience i never tire of. Its not about how fast you can go, or what tricks you can do, its simply about movement. Going from A to B. There is a street in my neighbourhood, its about 300 metres long, and has a small gradient to it of 25 degrees (maybe less). There is one 90 degree turn to the left. The surface is flawless and very wide. I am there at 6pm every evening, just crusing and carving listening to artists such as Krafy Kutz, Herbaliser, Dj Kentaro, DJ food & DK, and Jurrasic 5.

A combination of a great spot to ride, spectacular board, and phat beats puts me into my own little slice of heaven. Longboarding isn't about showing off, or who is the best rider, its just simply about being one with motion.

So do yourself a favour, go buy a board, and take the long way home!

Living on a prayer

Living in Malaysia doesn't neccasrily mean that i get everything cheap. Naturally, when compared to Britains prices it looks cheap, but then ANYTHING compared to Britains prices looks cheap.

No, what with a recent hike in taxes on fuel, food, and raw materials; i'm suprised that the common student, such as myself, can even afford to wake up in the morning. However, i am a business student and have created a few simple guide lines to follow which enables me to almost live for free!!! I'm going to share them with you now, in the hope that you too, will save money. Here ya' go:

1) Make small talk with the girl/ guy who serves you breakfast in your canteen.

Just a few simple "hello", "how are you today?" will see that you get large portions of food when they are plating your food up!

2) Go to night clubs early (before 12am) for the free entry

You may be one of the first ones there, but you don't have t pay 50rm, and there is no queue at the bar!

3) Drive your parents car whenever possible!

You don't have to fill it up, and you save the petrol in your car!

4)Take your mom groccery shopping, so that YOU can stock up on junk food and beer for FREE!!!

Lets face it, it won't be fun but the rewards are definately worth it. I find it helps if you can bring an MP3 player with you.

5) Lie about your career to get exclusive membership to Nightclubs.

This works! As far as the clubs in KL are concerned i'm a Marketing Executive. I'm a member of one of KL's most happening clubs, which means i don't pay entry fee and i get discount on certain products!

So...5 simple guidelines that will have you living life in the cheap lane! Use them wisely!
I have alot more secrets and tricks but i don't want to share ALL of them with you, at least not yet anyway.

"I hate mondays"

At some point or another we have all had a bad monday morning. Well, last monday went beyond bad, it was catastrophically bad!!! It was so bad that i was almost ready to throw the towel in at 7.55am and call it a day. It felt like divine intervention. Somebody did not want me to go to college that day!!!

So we have all had a monday moring feeling. However, who has ever actually written theres down and analyzed it? I have. So i present to you Monday 2nd June: a complete series of events. As far as the time goes, all i know for sure is the time it all started and the time i got to college, the inbetween times i dont know.

1) Got up too early at 6.30am (was supposed to be 7.00am)

2) Discovered i had the cold and kept on sneezing.

3) No tooth paste!

4) To tired to make coffee and breakfast so missed out on both.

5) Couldn't find headphones so couldnt listen to music at college

6) Ripped one of my socks whilst putting it on

7) Electric gate key didnt work

8) MP3 battery was dead so i had no car music. (i MUST have music in the moring to wake me up)

9) Started driving to Adi's office, got a quarter of the way when i realised i was suppose to be driving to college!

10) Went to get food from college canteen, my wallet was empty!

11) Went to ATM machine....out of order!

12) Wanted to call adi to tell her what a shit day i was having...........but i left my phone at home!

It was 7.55am when i realised my phone was at home. All this had happend to me in just 1hr and 25 mins. So next time you think your having a bad day; think back to my story and just be glad its not that bad!

Pass the Cliche to the left hand side.....

It was sunday afternoon and we had be invited to go to a reggae night at some arty farty bar/ Lounge in KL. Its called Palate Palette. I'm not really one for reggae music as i find it to be a bit monotone and boring; but i'm always up for checking out new places. We arrived there early at about 6.40pm and it was like walking into a Bob Marley look alike contest. Reggae cliches EVERYWHERE!!!! I'm also not a one for dread locks! I can't stand them!

However, the bar was a nice place and the staff where very friendly. They have this ticket system, where you buy a book of "Funny Munny" for 50rm and then when you want something like food or beer you just swap the tickets. I have to say that this place has the best prices i've ever seen in KL, it was 5rm for bbq food and 10rm per heineken bottle!!! It was worth stomaching the cliches just for the beer alone!

On the whole i actually had a good night and i would definately go again just for the food and beer. Only sad thing is that it finishes very early and when the beers for the funny money run out then its back to regular prices (luckily i spent my funnies' before that happened).

..and the lights go out to signal the start of the Mid Term Holidays!!!!

It's the school holidays and i'm finally able to break free from the social life crushing grip that college has had on me for the last few months! I have 10 days of freedom and i fully intend to make the most of them!

So what have i been upto??? Well, actually, not very much...

I just attended a chinese wedding (congrats sean and joanne) the other day. I always enjoy Chinese weddings, who doesn't? All the free booze you can drink, and believe me, i can drink! So i spent the majority of yesterday nursing a hangover that could kill a baby elephant!

Also, i've been thinking of getting a part time Bar Job, i miss not working in the industry that i've come to love and hate. Not too many hours though, but i doubt i will apply just yet as Laura and Gareth are on the way over. Hahaha..I'm looking forward to that!!! Gonna have lots to write about when they get here!!!

Anyways...

I don't have much planned for today, think i'll take it easy for a bit. Going to update my music library, it's starting to go a bit stale. This is my first blog by the way, so check back every few days to see what i'm doing, i'm usually up to something good.
