Monday

Monday was to be an Indian day. We met Adi for banana leaf, and then sent Candy to KL Sentral to catch the train to KLIA. When she had left for hong kong me and Pat drove down to Batu caves to feed the monkeys, Hike up the stairs, and check out the indian paintings. Very Cultural!

When we had had enough of monkey mingling, we picked Adi up from work, and went to eat CRABS!!!! Yum!!! I love it, thers just something really satisfying about the destruction that comes along with eating crabs. When we had finshed chowing down we where gonna just sit for a while and relax, but a flying cockroach put that plan to rest!

When Adi had finished running and me and pat had finally caught up to her; we drove to KLCC and went up to the sky bar. This was my first time to the Sky bar, but it wont be my last. Situated on the 33rd floor of traders hotel, the sky bar boasts a pleasent atmosphere accompanied by breath taking views of the Twin towers and KL city! We sipped expensive wine and chatted about the weekend right unitl the stroke of mid night. Then we got into our pumpkin carriage and our white mice pulled us home!

The next day, pat went back to Hong Kong, thus ending The FANTASTIC 4 day weekend!!!!

Taking the Long Way home!

Many of my close friends will tell you that i am an avid skater and always have been since the age of 12. I started with snakeboards and progressed to streetboards and competed many times in various skate jams, meeteings, and events.

However, whilst i was always into my pipes and rails, i never really boasted of my longboarding passion. I fell in love with my first long board when i was 16. I was at the skate shop buying Kyrptonics for my streetboard when i saw it lying up against the wall. 46" Gordon and Smith FibreFlex. Beautiful! I had to have it, so i saved up my money and bought it! Currently, i own three longboards. The FibreFlex, and two Sector 9 boards! But due to the weight of the Sector 9's i could only bring the fibreflex to KL.

Its hard to describe the feeling and pleasure that longboarding gives me. Leaning into a corner and just feeling the board turn is an experience i never tire of. Its not about how fast you can go, or what tricks you can do, its simply about movement. Going from A to B. There is a street in my neighbourhood, its about 300 metres long, and has a small gradient to it of 25 degrees (maybe less). There is one 90 degree turn to the left. The surface is flawless and very wide. I am there at 6pm every evening, just crusing and carving listening to artists such as Krafy Kutz, Herbaliser, Dj Kentaro, DJ food & DK, and Jurrasic 5.

A combination of a great spot to ride, spectacular board, and phat beats puts me into my own little slice of heaven. Longboarding isn't about showing off, or who is the best rider, its just simply about being one with motion.

So do yourself a favour, go buy a board, and take the long way home!

Living on a prayer

Living in Malaysia doesn't neccasrily mean that i get everything cheap. Naturally, when compared to Britains prices it looks cheap, but then ANYTHING compared to Britains prices looks cheap.

No, what with a recent hike in taxes on fuel, food, and raw materials; i'm suprised that the common student, such as myself, can even afford to wake up in the morning. However, i am a business student and have created a few simple guide lines to follow which enables me to almost live for free!!! I'm going to share them with you now, in the hope that you too, will save money. Here ya' go:

1) Make small talk with the girl/ guy who serves you breakfast in your canteen.

Just a few simple "hello", "how are you today?" will see that you get large portions of food when they are plating your food up!

2) Go to night clubs early (before 12am) for the free entry

You may be one of the first ones there, but you don't have t pay 50rm, and there is no queue at the bar!

3) Drive your parents car whenever possible!

You don't have to fill it up, and you save the petrol in your car!

4)Take your mom groccery shopping, so that YOU can stock up on junk food and beer for FREE!!!

Lets face it, it won't be fun but the rewards are definately worth it. I find it helps if you can bring an MP3 player with you.

5) Lie about your career to get exclusive membership to Nightclubs.

This works! As far as the clubs in KL are concerned i'm a Marketing Executive. I'm a member of one of KL's most happening clubs, which means i don't pay entry fee and i get discount on certain products!

So...5 simple guidelines that will have you living life in the cheap lane! Use them wisely!
I have alot more secrets and tricks but i don't want to share ALL of them with you, at least not yet anyway.

"I hate mondays"

At some point or another we have all had a bad monday morning. Well, last monday went beyond bad, it was catastrophically bad!!! It was so bad that i was almost ready to throw the towel in at 7.55am and call it a day. It felt like divine intervention. Somebody did not want me to go to college that day!!!

So we have all had a monday moring feeling. However, who has ever actually written theres down and analyzed it? I have. So i present to you Monday 2nd June: a complete series of events. As far as the time goes, all i know for sure is the time it all started and the time i got to college, the inbetween times i dont know.

1) Got up too early at 6.30am (was supposed to be 7.00am)

2) Discovered i had the cold and kept on sneezing.

3) No tooth paste!

4) To tired to make coffee and breakfast so missed out on both.

5) Couldn't find headphones so couldnt listen to music at college

6) Ripped one of my socks whilst putting it on

7) Electric gate key didnt work

8) MP3 battery was dead so i had no car music. (i MUST have music in the moring to wake me up)

9) Started driving to Adi's office, got a quarter of the way when i realised i was suppose to be driving to college!

10) Went to get food from college canteen, my wallet was empty!

11) Went to ATM machine....out of order!

12) Wanted to call adi to tell her what a shit day i was having...........but i left my phone at home!

It was 7.55am when i realised my phone was at home. All this had happend to me in just 1hr and 25 mins. So next time you think your having a bad day; think back to my story and just be glad its not that bad!

Pass the Cliche to the left hand side.....

It was sunday afternoon and we had be invited to go to a reggae night at some arty farty bar/ Lounge in KL. Its called Palate Palette. I'm not really one for reggae music as i find it to be a bit monotone and boring; but i'm always up for checking out new places. We arrived there early at about 6.40pm and it was like walking into a Bob Marley look alike contest. Reggae cliches EVERYWHERE!!!! I'm also not a one for dread locks! I can't stand them!

However, the bar was a nice place and the staff where very friendly. They have this ticket system, where you buy a book of "Funny Munny" for 50rm and then when you want something like food or beer you just swap the tickets. I have to say that this place has the best prices i've ever seen in KL, it was 5rm for bbq food and 10rm per heineken bottle!!! It was worth stomaching the cliches just for the beer alone!

On the whole i actually had a good night and i would definately go again just for the food and beer. Only sad thing is that it finishes very early and when the beers for the funny money run out then its back to regular prices (luckily i spent my funnies' before that happened).

Music Recommendation for today:
